Midsommarstång Table Top Replica - MADE TO ORDER

The Midsommarstång measures about 14” high & about 9” wide with a 4” base. It is entirely structured with a wood dowel & wood base. it is adorned with natural dried moss & tiny dried flowers. Included removable yellow & blue ribbons.

MIDSOMMARSTÅNG: the Midsommarstång is a traditional Swedish maypole erected during Midsummer celebrations to represent fertility & Soring. There were many variations of maypoles all throughout Europe, but the most popular in Sweden nowadays is the cross with the two rings. It is also the maypole represented in Midsommar. It is common for children or young maidens to dance in various known movements & gestures around the pole, some of which are based off everyday tasks like folding laundry or washing oneself. Sometimes, the Små grodorna (“the little frogs”) is performed around the pole by the children, as well. The pole is often made of wood, fresh, leaves, & sometimes flowers & ribbons to symbolize Spring, fertility of the land, & to honor the trees.

Place your Midsommarstång on your altar or window sill to let the sun shine through the rings during the Summer Solstice. Add ribbons to the rings & use it as a functional table top May pole!
