MAYPOLE
The May Pole is a ritual dance performed during Spring, as we begin to move into summer & is often practiced during Beltane, or May Day to symbolize the fertility & abundance. As ancient peoples once danced around trees to inspire the trees’ growth, we dance with ribbons & roods to symbolize the tree of life.
This Maypole is a gothic take & measures about 14” tall on a 3-4” wood base covered in moss. The maypole has a grapevine wreath to represent the cyclicalness of nature, covered in white & black mulberry paper roses to represent the blooms during spring, with various black & white silk ribbons hanging & a black wood knob at the top to represent the sun.
This decorative Maypole is entirely functional & can be placed on your Beltane altar to symbolize May Day & the Beltane season. The information card will help guide you as to how to perform the Maypole ritual.
