Maypole & May Queen Set - Midsummer Dreams / Beltane / May Day / Roodmas / Table top Altar Maypole

The May Pole is a ritual dance performed during Spring, as we begin to move into summer & is often practiced during Beltane, or May Day to symbolize the fertility & abundance. As ancient peoples once danced around trees to inspire the trees’ growth, we dance with ribbons & roods to symbolize the tree of life.

This decorative Maypole set is entirely functional & can be placed on your Beltane altar to symbolize May Day & the Beltane season. The information card will help guide you as to how to perform the Maypole ritual.

This listing is for one of these table top Maypoles, measuring about 14” tall. The entire base (measuring about 6” in diamater) & rood are wrapped in dried moss to represent the green earth. A painted wood knob adorns the top to represent the solar energy at this time. The ring is made with a grapevine wreath to represent the natural cycle with various color ribbons hanging & mulberry paper roses adorning it to represent the many colors of spring & summer.

This set includes one matching May Queen doll measuring about 5” tall that can be interchanged on the stand.

*The dried moss is finished off with a clear sealing spray to help prevent shedding & the ends of the ribbons are sealed in order to help prevent fraying. Some moss may still shed in shipment, but shouldn’t bare any of the wood beneath.
